Christmas Designers, Inc. was founded in 1979 by Dorice Long together with her sons Clayton and Kevin. Dorice began her decorating career in 1963 in Detroit. In 1971, The Long Family moved to Fort Lauderdale, where Dorice utilized her design talents in the very first year round Christmas retail store in the country. With a high demand for commercial decorating, the Long’s decided to start their own business and Christmas Designers, Inc. was created, offering the highest quality product and workmanship. One of their first clients in South Florida was the well known National Enquirer Yuletide Extravaganza in Lantana. Spectators came to admire the 300,000 tiny sparkling lights as well as the seventy-five animated character storybook themes. This annual tradition attracted more than one million visitors per year and extensive media coverage throughout the world.
Over the years, this family owned business has grown into one of the largest commercial Christmas companies in the country.
